वीर बालक

धन और बल को उन्नति का पैमाना मानने वाले आधुनिक विश्व में बालक के जन्म और विकास को केवल भौतिक आधार पर ही देखा जाता है तथा उसके शारीरिक और बौद्धिक विकास का प्रयास किया जाता है. किन्तु भारतीय परंपरा में बालक के जन्म को एक संयोग मानकर स्वीकार कर लेने के बजाय बालक को जन्म से पूर्व ही संस्कारों में ढालने की प्रक्रिया आरम्भ हो जाती है. उसके अन्नमय, मनोमय, प्राणमय, विज्ञानमय अवं आनंदमय कोषों के विकास पर बल दिया जाता था. बालकों को दी जाने वाली वाली संस्कार विहीन शिक्षा का ही दुष्परिणाम आज चारो और दिखाई दे रहा है. विदेशों में बालकों को सरकारों द्वारा अधिकार की भाषा तो सिखाई जा रही है परन्तु कर्तव्य का बोध नहीं करवाया जाता है. भारत में बालकों को उनके दादा-दादी एवं नाना-नानी द्वारा पारिवारिक वातावरण में खेल-खेल में ही सारा ज्ञान दे दिया जाता था. उनके बाद के जीवन में इसी बालशिक्षा तथा गुरुकुल में मिली कठोर अनुशासन साधना का प्रभाव दिखाई देता था. इसी प्रक्रिया से निकले अनेक महापुरुषों के बालजीवन की घटनाओं, बालकों के बारे में पश्चिमी और भारतीय धारणाएं, संस्कार आदि ऐसे अनेक विषय इस प्रदर्शनी में दिखाए गए है. यह चित्रमाला सन २००३ के दीवाली मेले में प्रदर्शित की गई थी.

The Child

The life and development of a child in the modern world,which views money and power as the barometer of success, is naturally and unfortunately promoted on this basis. But according to the Bhartiya tradition, the birth of a child is not considered a chance and the process of molding the child into the sacraments (samskaras) starts even before he takes birth. Importance used to be placed on the development of his many sheaths like Annamaya, Manomaya, Pranmaya, Vigyanmay, and Anandmay. The bad effects of education devoid of our cultural ethos can be seen everywhere today. In other countries, governments teach children the language of rights, but the cognition of responsibilities is not given. In Bharat, children used to get all the knowledge in play and in the family environment from their maternal and paternal grandparents. In later life, the effects of early education received at home and then at Gurukul with strict discipline could be readily seen. The exhibition shows the incidents of early lives of many great people that came out of this process, as well as the western and Bhartiya concepts about children and samskaras. This panoramic exhibition was shown at the Diwali Mela in year 2003.
